Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Post Surgical Orthopedic Inpatient)

Location: Fairlawn, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night Shift, 3x 12-hour shifts (7 PM - 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Post Surgical Orthopedic Inpatient RN role
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Facility preference: 2-3 years of experience in specialty
• Must be legally authorized to work in Ohio

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Ohio
• Experience: Minimum 3 years preferred (facility prefers 2-3 years; use higher value)
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (AHA only) required for all RNs except some perioperative roles
  • BLS (AHA only) required for all RNs
  • PALS and NRP as applicable (based on specialty area)
  • CNOR preferred but not required for OR roles
• Background Checks:

  • Criminal background check within 1 year of start, including 7-year search and multiple databases
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required monthly
• Health Requirements:

  • Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to perform essential job functions
  • Immunizations: Tdap (within 10 years), Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titers or vaccines), Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination), Varicella (positive titer or vaccines)
  • Negative TB test (Qgold or Tspot within 6 months preferred; chest x-ray if prior positive)
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen including nicotine within 30 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required annually (strict deadline enforcement)
• Documentation:

  • Valid government-issued photo ID required on assignment
  • I9 or attestation required
  • State license primary source verification required
  • 2 professional references required, including at least 1 from most recent employer
  • Employment application with 3 years prior work history, including at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area
  • Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation and compliance documents prior to start

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
• Facility does not require BCI & FBI fingerprinting
• Radiation badges issued if applicable
• Facility enforces strict flu vaccination policy with no declinations accepted unless approved exemption is on file

This position is ideal for RNs with orthopedic inpatient experience seeking a 13-week travel contract on night shift in Ohio.
