Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Durham, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
- Start Date: Target start on March 9 or March 23
- Work Environment:
- Complex academic healthcare system with a level one trauma program
- 1,000-bed hospital including 200 dedicated pediatric beds
- Services include outpatient and inpatient imaging, CT intervention, pain management, portable neuro CT imaging, portable OR imaging, dedicated CTs in the ED, pediatric and neonatal imaging
- Caseload: Cardiac, oncology, trauma, pain management, interventional
- Equipment Experience Required: GE and Siemens CT scanners (strict requirement)
Required Qualifications
- Certification: ARRT-CT certification required
- Licensure: Must hold a valid CT Tech license/certification as per ARRT standards
- FIT Test: Required (no flu exemptions accepted)
- Experience:
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (CT Tech)
- Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated, but implied to require experienced CT Techs familiar with GE and Siemens equipment

Required Documents and Compliance

- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months (any N95 acceptable)
- Immunizations and health documents:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- TB questionnaire (updated annually)
- Measles, mumps, rubella vaccination or positive antibody titers (no exemptions)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if low/equivocal)
- Seasonal flu vaccination required for new candidates starting October-March (no exemptions)
- Polio vaccine or attestation
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA/AAP only
- Chemotherapy certification (if applicable)
- National certification verification for ARRT Radiography (R) and CT
- Pass/fail testing on basic tech knowledge during orientation (minimum 80% to pass)
Orientation and Training
- Biweekly orientation schedule
- Competency exams required, unit-specific
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training provided during orientation (valid for 2 years)
- Completion of online modules prior to orientation
- Completion of competency checklists (CBOs) within 3 weeks after start date
Additional Notes
- Candidate must set up a Duke Guest Account prior to clearance to access orientation and work systems
- Two professional references required from employment within the last 12 months, with at least one supervisor
