Travel/Contract Dialysis RN

Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7 PM - 7 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week block
• Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Floating: May be required to float within skillset
• Charting System: EPIC experience required
• Locals: Not accepted
• Pending License: Accepted only if holding a single-state license from a non-compact state; otherwise, active Virginia State or Compact RN license required

Required Qualifications

• Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years dialysis nursing experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with adult acute care inpatient dialysis patients
  • Skilled in care of patients with acute renal failure/injury, hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis
• Clinical Skills:

  • Ability to cannulate AV graft and AV fistula
  • Dialysate conductivity testing
  • Management of tunneled and non-tunneled catheters
  • Troubleshooting arterial pressure alarms, blood leak detectors, conductivity alarms, and venous pressure alarms
• Equipment Experience:

  • B. Braun Dialog HD machine
  • Portable RO
  • Glucometer

Required Documentation & Compliance

• I9 or attestation
• Driver’s License/State ID (must meet radius requirements)
• E-Verify or attestation
• 7-year background check (within 1 year of start)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (within 30 days of start and updated for renewals)
• Education verification of highest earned degree
• State license primary source verification (within 30 days of start)
• NURSYS verification (for RNs, within 30 days of start)
• Physical exam within 1 year, free from communicable diseases
• Fit test within 1 year, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• TB questionnaire
• Professional photo for badge
• Completion of new hire paperwork and compliance checklists

Additional Information

• Prior travel experience not explicitly required
• No locals accepted; radius restrictions apply
• Must adhere to call-off policy: facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• All requests for time off must be submitted with application

This position is ideal for experienced dialysis RNs comfortable with night shifts and working in an acute care inpatient dialysis setting.
