Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Nephrology Telemetry Nights

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours)
  • Weekend Requirement: 2 shifts every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday for night shift)
  • Floating: Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated
  • Local Radius Rule: 75 miles (locals not accepted)
  • Pending License: Accepted
  • On-call: Not required
  • Special Requirements: Experience with Peritoneal Dialysis

Required Experience

  • Years of Experience: 2 years preferred (1-2 years minimum)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required; first-time travelers accepted

Required Certifications

  • BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (required for all nurses)
  • Additional certifications may be required based on unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) – verify with unit specifics

Licensure

  • Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Missouri
  • Pending licenses accepted
  • Primary source verification required (NURSYS for Missouri)

  • Acute Care Hospital with 233 staffed beds
  • Charting system: EPIC
  • Scrub color: Navy
  • Parking: Free

Schedule & Work Conditions

  • Night shift with weekend rotation every other weekend
  • Floating within scope of practice as needed
  • No block scheduling available

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • Government-issued ID required
  • Criminal background check within 6 months (7-year search including statewide, nationwide, and international if applicable)
  • Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Education verification of highest nursing degree required
  • Fingerprinting required for assignments in Illinois long-term care or rehab units (not applicable here)
  • Drug testing within 1 year, must include specific panels and be valid throughout assignment
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask testing required annually (N95 respirators)
  • Immunizations and health screenings required:
    • Tdap (or declination)
    • Negative TB test or equivalent within 1 year
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • HIPAA acknowledgment, confidentiality, hand hygiene, dress code, and other facility policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start
  • Regulatory compliance education and orientation modules required annually via WorkRamp

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
  • Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required annually
  • MO Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) results required for certain clinical roles
  • Various state-specific background checks and registries as applicable

Notes

  • First-time travel nurses are accepted for this position
  • Floating may be required within the facility to meet patient care needs
  • Weekend shifts are mandatory every other weekend
  • Pending licenses are accepted, but must be approved

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with telemetry experience who is comfortable working nights, weekends, and floating within an acute care setting, with a preference for those familiar with nephrology and peritoneal dialysis.
