Job Opportunity: Case Manager RN (Registered Nurse)
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 5x8 hour day shifts
- Shift Times: One of the following:
- 07:00 - 15:30
- 07:30 - 16:00
- 08:00 - 16:30
- 08:30 - 17:00
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 4 weekend days in a 4-week schedule
- On-call: No
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Schedule Accommodation: No
- Locals Accepted: No (candidate’s permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility)
- Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for 1 eight-hour shift per 2 weeks)

Required Qualifications
- License: Alaska RN license in hand required for auto offer
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of specialty experience (Acute Care)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACM (Acute Care Management) certification preferred
- Skills:
- Epic experience required
- Acute Care experience required
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty (Registered Nurse - Acute Care)
- First-time travelers accepted
- Prior travel experience: Not required
Schedule & Time Off
- Only 1 time off request per 13-week assignment of 5 days or less
- No holiday time off requests for auto offer
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
- Drug screen: 10 panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Flu vaccine or declination (seasonal)
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (Alaska placements require positive titer and vaccine series)
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Fit mask test required (updated annually)
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment
Training & Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
- Epic training and access required (completion of Epic modules)
- Completion of required WorkRamp modules including:
- Annual regulatory requirements
- Specialty-specific modules (Case Management)
- Basics of Trauma Informed Care (required at this facility)
- Other certifications may be required based on unit or specialty (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) but not mandatory for this role unless specified

This position is ideal for Registered Nurses with acute care experience who are licensed in Alaska and comfortable working day shifts with weekend requirements in a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma hospital setting. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
