Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU)
• Shift: 36 or 48 hours per week
• Schedule: Block schedule accommodated, float required
• Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd weekend on a 6-week schedule period
• Patient Ratios: 1:2
• Unit Info: Diverse patient population; no burns, pediatrics, transplants, or ECMO patients
• Scrubs: Any color/any brand allowed

Required Certifications

• ACLS (AHA only, RQI acceptable)
• BLS (AHA or ARC; if ARC, must state "Basic Life Support")
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – preferred for first contract; required if contract is extended
• NIH Stroke Certification (NIHSS) – required annually for ICU RNs
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – required if on assignment past 1 year; available onsite
• Basic Dysrhythmia Exam (EKG) – required with a passing score of 84% or higher; ICU has a one-attempt policy
• State RN License verification (Primary Source Verification required within 30 days of start)
• NURSYS Verification

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
• First-time travelers are accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)

Required Background and Compliance Checks

• Background check within 30 days of start, including:

  • National Criminal Check
  • State and County Searches (10 years)
  • SSN Trace
  • National Sex Offender Check
  • FACIS Level 3
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check
• HHS/OIG check
• Education verification (official transcript or diploma with graduation date)
• Missouri EDL Search within 30 days of start

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within last 12 months (not required annually)
• Fit mask testing completed onsite
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations or documented immunity/declination for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug screen within 30 days of start (includes multiple drug panels)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (mask required if exempt)

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references within 3 years of start
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Verification of most recent employer
• Completion of facility-specific confidentiality and code of conduct agreements
• Completion of agency nurse orientation quiz with a passing score of 84% or higher prior to start

Notes

• Return-to-Office (RTO) limit: 2 requests per contract
• ICU unit has a strict one-attempt policy for the Basic Dysrhythmia exam
• CPI training onsite; advanced CPI required for Emergency Department and Mental Health units only
• TNCC renewal not required after initial certification
• Remediation process available for non-ICU candidates failing the dysrhythmia exam once
