Job Opportunity: EP Lab Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

Required Qualifications

  • Licensure:
    • Valid District of Columbia RN license required prior to start date (pending DC license accepted at time of application but must be active before starting)
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC approved
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years of experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and use of equipment such as Cardio Lab, Medconnect, Zoll, and Life Pak
  • References:
    • Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
  • Work History:
    • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
  • Competencies:
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam required within 1 year of start, with an overall score of 80% or higher and 100% on lethal rhythms section; must be updated annually
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required within 3 years of start, passing score 80% or higher

Prior Travel Experience

  • No explicit prior travel experience required

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Flu vaccine required (or approved medical/religious exemption) for all employees during flu season
  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within the last year, updated annually
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
  • Immunizations or titers required for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
  • N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete on-site if needed)
  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred

Background & Compliance

  • Criminal background check within 90 days of start, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Federal and state-level background screenings (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG) prior to start and monthly thereafter
  • Education verification of highest degree required by position
  • I9 and E-Verify attestation required upon hire
  • Completion of facility-specific modules (SITELS) prior to start date

Additional Information

  • Parking available on campus; no shuttle schedule concerns after evening shifts
  • Must complete required competency exams and certifications as per unit and facility policies
  • Must comply with all facility-specific health, safety, and documentation requirements

This position is ideal for an experienced EP Lab RN with strong telemetry and dysrhythmia skills, ready to work a consistent day shift schedule in a hospital setting in Washington, DC.
