Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with some Saturdays
- Setting: Acute hospital environment
- Patient Population: Adults needing home health setup and discharge assistance
- Key Skills Required:
- Proficiency with technology (typing, Microsoft Office, Epic)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Excellent communication skills and clear documentation
- Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, and plan of care development
- Floating within scope of practice may be required to meet facility needs
- Travelers required to work holidays as necessary
- No weekend shifts
- Block scheduling not accommodated
- Local candidates within a 75-mile radius not accepted
- Pending license accepted
- Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: 7 days
Required Qualifications
- Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Specialty: Case Manager
- Years of Experience: 2 years preferred (higher end of 1-2 years range)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not accepted for first-timers (prior travel experience required)
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Acute hospital experience required
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued ID (Driver’s License required for Home Health positions)
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification of highest nursing degree required
- Professional license primary source verification (Missouri RN license verifiable on NURSYS)
- NURSYS verification required for Missouri licenses
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date
- Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap vaccine or declination (expires every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include specific panels and be valid throughout assignment
- Various facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene policy, dress code policy, and regulatory compliance education (annual updates required)
- Unit-specific competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency exams required and must be updated annually
- Skills checklist required within 1 year of start, including oncology skills if applicable
- References: Two professional references required, preferably supervisors within the last year
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be able to work holidays as needed
- Floating to other units within scope may be required
- No weekend shifts or block scheduling available
- Pending licenses accepted
- Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
