Description

Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Richmond, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 3 PM to 11 PM
  • Locals allowed at the same rate

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard for CT Tech roles (confirm with recruiter if needed)

Licensure

  • Must hold a valid Virginia state license appropriate for CT Tech
  • Temporary RN licenses are not accepted (if applicable)

Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only

    • Sonography Unit: ARRT(S), RDMS, RDCS, CCI, or RVT accepted
    • EEG Techs: National certifications not required but clinical experience is required
    • Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST): NCCT accepted

Background Checks & Verifications

  • Criminal background check within 60 days of start, including:
    • All states lived/worked in past 7 years
    • State of permanent residence
    • VA Statewide Repository Search
    • SS Trace
    • All counties lived/worked in past 7 years
    • Nationwide FACIS Level 3
    • Sex Offender Registry
    • Education verification or proof of diploma
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
  • Fingerprinting: Virginia State Police National Criminal Background Check fingerprint results required for certain units (check if applicable)
  • Virginia Central Registry (CPS) search and results required for Pediatrics, NICU, Psych, and certain other units (check if applicable)

Health Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (vaccine or declination)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Q-gold/T-spot within 30 days or two PPDs)
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella titers with booster if low titer
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
    • Varicella titers with booster if low titer
  • Drug testing within 60 days of start (9-panel minimum, instant drug screens not accepted)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for 2025-26 season

Competencies

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
  • Color Blind Testing (required)
  • Abuse Reporting Competency (covering physical/sexual abuse, domestic violence, neglect/exploitation)
  • Competency exams specific to specialty (e.g., Sonography or Vascular Tech competency exam accepted)

Documentation & Other Requirements

  • Complete application/resume required
  • Two references required
  • Skills checklist updated annually (Sonography or Vascular Tech skills accepted if applicable)
  • Orientation includes exams/tests such as Pharmacology Exam, Point of Care Testing, Airborne Precaution Mask Fitting, BKAT for certain nursing roles
  • Completion of assigned learning modules during orientation week (approx. 6 hours)
  • Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during hours of service
  • HIPAA Acknowledgement required prior to start

Notes

  • Certifications expiring within 1 month of contract start will not be accepted
  • No onsite renewals for certifications; renewals must be scheduled by the agency
  • Fingerprinting and CPS documentation are time-sensitive and must be submitted within specified timeframes
  • Candidates may start with pending results for fingerprinting and CPS if proof of submission is on file
