Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey

Job Description
- Assignment in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:5 or higher.
- Registered Nurse must have at least 1.5 years of experience in the specialty.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- Every other week (EOW) and every other holiday required.
- Must be willing to float within skillset when not needed in home unit.
- No block scheduling.
- Local candidates are accepted.
Required Qualifications
Licensure
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for New Jersey.
Experience
- Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry.
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA required; RQI and instructor cards acceptable.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for MS/Tele assignments; AHA required, RQI and instructor cards acceptable.
- NIH Stroke Certification – Required for MS/Tele and adult critical care units; must be updated annually.
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – Required for all RNs; must be completed within 72 hours of signing.
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam – Required for MS/Tele and adult critical care units; must be completed within 72 hours of signing.
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) – Pharmacology and Basic EKG exams required for MS/Tele; candidates have 3 attempts to pass.
- Color Blind Testing – Required within one year of start if job tasks require color discrimination.
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) – Required for ER, Pediatric ER, and Behavioral Health RNs (not specifically required for MS/Tele).
- Other certifications such as PALS, NRP, CHEMO, EFM may not be required for MS/Tele but are required for other specialties.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes.
- Physical exam within the last 12 months confirming clearance to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease.
- Drug screen within 30 days of start.
- Seasonal influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.
- Respirator medical clearance and fit testing if job tasks require respirator use.
- Latex allergy screening questionnaire if applicable.
- Respiratory Safety Clearance (RespSafety) prior to start.
- Annual education sign-off and compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission training.
- Background check within 30 days of start, including criminal, MVR/DMV, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and state-specific exclusions.
- Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history.
- Work history verification for at least 1 year prior to start (New Jersey state requirement).
- Two professional references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference.
