Job Opportunity: Radiology Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Paramus, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Perform multiple duties within the Radiology department.
• Coverage required across multiple sites within a 75-mile radius.
• Weekend rotation shift.
• Cat Scan and MRI experience preferred but unit-based training will be provided for qualified candidates.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license for New Jersey or compact license in hand.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (AHA only)
  • BLS (AHA only)
  • PALS (AHA only)
• Experience: No explicit years of experience stated; assume minimum RN experience required for specialty.
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• I-9 verification and E-Verify.
• Education verification (Bachelor’s degree minimum).
• 7-year background check including national and state-level searches.
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 30 days of start.
• Physical exam or statement of health within 12 months, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP.
• Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year of start.
• Immunizations and health screenings (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing):

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred, not required)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody or declination
  • Varicella (proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titer)
  • Flu vaccination (mandatory, no declinations accepted)
  • COVID-19 vaccination and booster (mandatory, no exemptions)

Competency & Testing Requirements

• Pass/fail testing onsite including:

  • Telemetry competency exam (80% pass rate)
  • Medication exam (80% pass rate)
• Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) annually with 80% passing score covering:

  • National Patient Safety, HIPAA, OSHA topics, Infection Control, Ethics, Patient Rights, etc.
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam annually (80% pass rate) for all RNs except certain units.
• Color Blind Testing (Ishihara test) within 1 year of assignment start.
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required.
• Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required.

References & Work History

• Two professional references required:

  • One supervisory reference from within 12 months of start.
  • One professional reference from within 3 years of start.
• Employment verification for the last 7 years required.
• Current and updated resume including explanation for gaps over 30 days.
• Unit-specific skills checklist required.

Additional Notes

• Training will be provided for Cat Scan and MRI if not already experienced.
• Local travel defined as within 75 miles of the facility.
• No temporary or emergency licenses accepted unless approved.
• Pass/fail testing is mandatory; failure results in contract cancellation.
