Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVICU)

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia

Unit Description

  • 24-bed Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU (TCV ICU)
  • Patient population includes those undergoing cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures such as CABG, valve replacement/repair, heart transplantation, and lung transplantation
  • Shift: Days
  • Scheduling: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Maximum 40 hours allowed for time off
  • Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse license in Virginia (VA license pending submissions accepted)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
  • Must have experience with Epic electronic health record system
  • Must adhere to facility float policy

    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required (no declinations accepted)
    • Hepatitis B: Positive Hep B Surface Antibody titer required or negative Surface and Antigen titers as per protocol
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or titer required (declination accepted but must be documented)
    • Seasonal Flu vaccination required during flu season (no exemptions accepted)
  • Drug testing: 10-panel drug screen including Marijuana and Fentanyl, required within 2 months of start and updated annually
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, education verification, and abuse registry search as applicable
  • Fingerprinting required for Behavioral Health candidates only (not applicable here)

  • Candidate must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service
  • References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required
  • Skills checklist and competency exams must be updated annually
  • Professional appearance guidelines must be reviewed and acknowledged
