Job Opportunity: CVICU Registered Nurse

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Description

• 24-bed Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU (TCV ICU)
• Patient population includes those undergoing cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures such as CABG, valve replacement/repair, heart transplantation, and lung transplantation
• Day shift
• Scheduling: 36 or 48 hours available; block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Work schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday
• Maximum 40 hours allowed for time off
• Must adhere to facility float policy

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid Virginia RN license (VA license pending submissions accepted)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Epic electronic health record experience required
• Must meet all facility and state background check requirements
• Education: ASN required; BSN preferred
• Physical exam and immunizations/vaccinations per facility policy (including Tdap, TB testing, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccine)
• Drug screening (10-panel including marijuana and fentanyl) required within 2 months of start and updated annually
• Pass/fail cardiac rhythm assessment required during orientation for adult inpatient RN positions
• Other facility-specific compliance and documentation requirements apply

Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular ICU
• Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 2 years critical care experience preferred (based on typical CVICU requirements)
