Position Details

  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
  • Floating: Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated
  • Locals Accepted: No (local radius rule: 75 miles)
  • Pending License Accepted: Yes
  • On-call: No

Required Experience

  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Registered Nurse - ER)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required
  • First-timers: Not accepted

Required Certifications

  • Mandatory:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NIH Stroke Certification
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) acceptable in lieu of PALS for ER
  • Preferred:
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or MAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Other Certifications:
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) as per unit requirements
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) if applicable

License Requirements

  • Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license for Missouri (NURSYS verification required)
  • Missouri licenses verifiable on NURSYS; pending licenses accepted
  • License primary source verification required

Compliance & Background Checks

  • Criminal background check within 6 months required (7-year search including statewide and nationwide checks)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required quarterly
  • Education verification of highest nursing degree required (cannot pend at start)
  • Fingerprinting required for assignments in Illinois long-term care or rehab units (not required for Missouri)
  • State-specific searches and registries as applicable (Missouri Family Care Safety Registry, Highway Patrol, Exclusion Lists)
  • Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include comprehensive panel and remain valid throughout assignment
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start required
  • Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually; PAPR not available
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tdap vaccine or declination (expires every 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or equivalent within 1 year
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as per unit requirements
    • Flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (09/30 - 04/01)

Additional Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
  • Unit-specific competency exams required annually
  • Skills checklist required within 1 year of start (Oncology skills checklist if assigned to Med Surg-Oncology unit)
  • Employment application and two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
  • Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgements (HIPAA, confidentiality, dress code, hand hygiene, latex allergy questionnaire, etc.) must be completed prior to start
  • Orientation modules through WorkRamp required for all RNs (approximately 16 hours) unless completed in current calendar year
