Travel RN - Cardiothoracic ICU

Location: Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Evening (7pm – 7am)
Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed (option for 48 hours/week)
Weekend Requirements: Every other full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required unless otherwise approved
Holiday Requirements: Must work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day)
Call Requirements: None
Float Requirements: Will float to ICU and any progressive unit as needed

Unit Information

• Unit: Cardiothoracic ICU
• Beds: 14 (expanding soon to 26)
• Patient Ratios: Typically 1:2, may vary during shift
• Equipment: CRRT machine, Abbott Balloon pump, External Vent Drain, Impella, PrismaFlex
• EMR System: EPIC
• Patient Population: Heart surgery (including open heart, CABG), Neuro (stroke, brain surgery)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)

Job Summary

Provide comprehensive nursing care including:

• Developing nursing diagnoses and care plans
• Delivering physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families
• Monitoring and reassessing patient conditions and care objectives
