Job Opportunity: Dialysis Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

  • Monday to Friday, 5:30 AM – 6:00 PM (12-hour shifts, days vary based on staffing needs)
  • Rotating Saturdays
  • Occasional Sundays (holidays)
  • Floating to all Dialysis locations
• Guarantee Hours: 36 hours per week
• Assignment: Able to run a 4:1 patient assignment and serve as Charge Nurse for 21 stations
• Charge Nurse experience required
• Skills: Able to run a 4 patient POD including stringing and setting up Fresenius dialysis machines
• Patient Type: Outpatient/Chronic dialysis

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
• Minimum of 1 year of outpatient dialysis experience within the last year
• Experience working in an outpatient setting
• Experience in Charge Nurse roles
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health and Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete the following within 5 days of signing the contract:

• Physical exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Fit mask test (within 1 year, updated annually)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year) or TB questionnaire
• Immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (Surface AB and AG titers required for dialysis)
  • Varicella
• Drug screening (within 30 days of start)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (during flu season)
• Eye exam (Snellen, within 1 year)
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Background and Verification

• 7-year criminal background check (including felony checks) within 3 months of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start and monthly thereafter
• Education verification from primary source
• Foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
• Employment verification (minimum 2 past employments)
• References (2 within 3 years) required for Aya candidates
• State-specific checks including NYS Nurse Aide Registry (if applicable), fingerprinting, disciplinary action, sex offender registry, and Medicaid exclusion list

Additional Notes

• Floating to multiple dialysis locations required
• Charge Nurse role includes leadership responsibilities and managing multiple stations
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate (not relevant for pay details)

This position is ideal for experienced dialysis RNs with charge nurse experience who are comfortable managing multiple patients and working flexible schedules including weekends and floating assignments.
