Travel RN - Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCU)

Job Description

• Care for medically delicate and surgically complex patients including those with respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications.
• Manage high acuity patients with an average patient load of 3.
• Competency in medical and surgical populations required.
• Must be skilled in advanced hemodynamics including pressor usage per titration protocols.
• Experience with antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics, arterial lines (a line), central venous pressure (CVP), external ventricular drain (EVD), orthopedic traction, and infection prevention protocols.
• Familiarity with HFNC, BiPap/CPAP, and oxypendent devices.
• Nurses with large scale adult PCU and community hospital ICU experience tend to perform well.
• Competency test required within 24 hours of submission.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with at least some experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience working with adult patients.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Experience with pressor usage per titration protocols.
• Experience with antihypertensive drips, sedative drips, and narcan drips.
• Experience with thrombo-embolytics.
• Experience with arterial lines (a line), central venous pressure (CVP) monitoring, external ventricular drain (EVD), and orthopedic traction.
• Experience with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system.
