Job Opportunity: RN - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Location: Albany, New York
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Work in the Progressive Critical Care Unit caring for medically delicate and surgically complex adult patients.
Patient conditions include respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications.
Average patient load: 3 high acuity patients.
Competency in care of medical and surgical populations required.
Must be proficient in ACLS and advanced hemodynamics, including pressor usage per titration protocols.
Experience with antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics, arterial lines, central venous pressure (CVP) monitoring, external ventricular drains (EVD), orthopedic traction, infection prevention protocols, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and oxypendent.
Nurses with large-scale adult PCU and community hospital ICU experience tend to perform well.
Navy blue scrubs required.
Epic EMR experience is required.
Competency test required within 24 hours of submission.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York.
Minimum of 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year.
Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Experience with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) system.

Additional Information

Local candidates from certain counties are not eligible.
Must be able to work the specified shifts (details not provided).
Competency test will be administered shortly after application submission.

This position is ideal for experienced PCU RNs comfortable with high-acuity adult patients and advanced critical care skills, looking for a travel assignment in New York.
