Job Opportunity: Travel RN - Psychiatry (Gero Psych Unit)

Location: Moberly, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM

Job Description

• Provide nursing care to adult psychiatric patients on a Gero Psych Unit.
• Utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to ensure safe delivery of care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
• Perform behavioral health evaluations, plan, implement, and document nursing care.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests within RN scope of practice.
• Promote patient independence by establishing care goals and educating patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
• Familiar with standard nursing concepts, practices, and procedures.

Unit Details

• Patient ratio: 1 RN to 8 patients
• Number of beds on unit: 21
• EMR system: MedHost
• Scrub color: Any color allowed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience within the last year
• Experience working with adult and geriatric patients
• Experience in an inpatient behavioral health setting
• Psychiatric RN experience with behavioral health focus

• 48-hour guarantees are not available.
• Blocked scheduling may be requested.
• Position requires accountability for adult psychiatric patient care on a behavioral health unit.
