Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg (Days)

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours
• Patient Types: Medical Surgical, all surgical cases except orthopedic and spine
• Patient Ratios:

  • Days: 1:4 or 1:5
  • Nights: 1:5 or 1:6
• Bed Size: 46
• Scrubs: Black or Blue
• IV Drips experience required with: amiodarone, diltiazem, heparin, dobutamine, milrinone
• Traveler will float across Medical Surgical units within the hospital
• EMR system: EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months (2 years) of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• Experience with drips listed above
• Experience with equipment including chest tubes, JP drain, 3-way Foley catheter, and NG tubes
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa or compact/multistate license valid in Iowa
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) BLS certification
• Valid Driver’s License
• Skills checklist specific to Medical Surgical nursing
• Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome (no prior travel experience required)
• Orientation offered weekly, every Monday
