Job Opportunity: Telemetry Registered Nurse

Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

• 36-bed unit with private rooms
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
• Patient ages range from young adult to geriatric
• Focus on cardiac care including post-cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, pacemaker implants, and stable non-procedural cardiac patients
• Float required to units of equal or lesser acuity

Schedule

• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of specialty experience as a Registered Nurse in telemetry or cardiac care
• Prior travel experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for Texas
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required as applicable
• Other certifications as applicable: PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB), CPI, NIH Stroke Certification
• EPIC experience required

Required Qualifications & Compliance

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Minimum 2 years telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel assignment
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience working with adolescent and geriatric patients
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

This position is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs with prior travel contract experience who are comfortable working in a cardiac-focused telemetry unit and meet all licensing, certification, and compliance requirements.
