Job Opportunity: Telemetry Registered Nurse
Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Patient Population
- 36-bed unit with private rooms
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
- Patient ages range from young adult to geriatric
- Focus on cardiac care including post-cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, pacemaker implants, and stable non-procedural cardiac patients
- Float required to units of equal or lesser acuity
Schedule
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of specialty experience as a Registered Nurse in telemetry or cardiac care
- Prior travel experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for Texas
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required as applicable
- Other certifications as applicable: PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB), CPI, NIH Stroke Certification
- EPIC experience required
Required Qualifications & Compliance
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Minimum 2 years telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience working with adolescent and geriatric patients
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system

- Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required
This position is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs with prior travel contract experience who are comfortable working in a cardiac-focused telemetry unit and meet all licensing, certification, and compliance requirements.
