Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, days (9 AM - 9 PM), Friday through Sunday
  • May occasionally float to other facilities
  • Must be able to perform CT and X-Ray procedures
  • Required to start approximately 8-9 IVs per day
  • Outpatient (Adult & Pediatrics) and Emergency Department experience required
  • Experience with PACS, portables, Siemens equipment required; Samsung X-Ray preferred
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
  • Experience with infants and pediatrics preferred

Procedures and Exams

  • X-Ray: Extremities, Abdomen/GI, Spine/Pelvis, Head, Chest/Thorax, Musculoskeletal, Lower and Upper Extremities
  • CT: Abdomen, Pelvis, Head/Neck, Chest, Spine, Brain Perfusion, CT Angiographies (CTAs), Multiplanar Reconstruction
  • ED CT and X-Ray Exams: Outpatient CT and X-Ray, Cardiac CT (Pulmonary Vein CT, Cardiac Calcium Scores, Perfusion studies)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience as an X-Ray Technician and Radiology Technologist
  • Experience working with adult and pediatric patients
  • Experience in outpatient and acute care settings
  • Ability to perform CT and X-Ray procedures, including X-Ray Abdomen/GI, Head, and Chest/Thorax
  • Proficient in starting IVs
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ARRT certification

Required Certifications and Verifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ARRT (CT and Radiography)
  • Pass/Fail EKG exam required for all RNs (if applicable)
  • Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Education verification and transcript/diploma as applicable
  • Drug screening (10-panel) within 40 days of start
  • Immunizations and health documents including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B titer or declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
  • Physical exam (if applicable)
  • Photo for badge meeting strict facility requirements
  • References: 2 supervisory references for clinical positions (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)
  • Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
  • Work history verification for last 5 years

Additional Requirements

  • Must be flexible with scheduling and adhere to zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
  • Must complete compliance requirements by deadlines prior to start date
  • May be required to sign facility-specific policies including floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement
  • Orientation and onboarding tasks must be completed prior to start
  • Facility-specific testing and competency exams as applicable (e.g., medication test, dysrhythmia/EKG competency)

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract for a CT Tech with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Radiology/Cardiology. The role requires proficiency in CT and X-Ray procedures, IV starts, and experience with Siemens PACS and EPIC. First-time travelers are welcome. Candidates must meet strict certification, immunization, and background check requirements and be flexible with scheduling.
