Description

Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU/PCU/MS Float

Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Float across ICU, PCU, and Medical-Surgical (MS) units
Must be comfortable working all three specialties
Staffing ratios: ICU 2:1, PCU 5:1, MS 6:1 (may flex up to 7:1)
Shifts: 3x12 hour shifts (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM), 4x12 shifts available by request
Floating may occur every 4 hours, up to 2-3 times per shift
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week block
Holiday requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
EPIC charting experience required
Accepts first-time travelers

Required Qualifications

Licensure

Valid RN license in Virginia

Education

Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Certifications

ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS

Clinical Skills & Experience

Minimum 2 years ICU experience, including experience within the last year
Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) experience
Experienced in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, and central line care/management
Experienced in blood product administration
Skilled in management of BiPAP/CPAP, care of ventilated patients, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
