Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Pediatric Cath/EP)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Typical Caseload: Approximately 4 cases per day
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- On-Call: Yes, must be able to be on-site within 2 hours of call
Requirements/Qualifications
- Cath Lab Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- Electrophysiology Technician experience
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Pediatric cath experience is a must-have
- Licensure: Valid professional license relevant to Cath Lab Tech role (e.g., RRT if applicable)
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, must be current and not expire within 30 days of start
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only, must be current and not expire within 30 days of start
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only, must be current and not expire within 30 days of start
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - AHA/AAP only, must be current and not expire within 30 days of start
- CHEMO certification (if applicable based on unit/specialty)
- State License: Copy of professional license required before start
- Primary source verification of license required, must be current and valid
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Education verification required (transcript/diploma accepted if verification pending)
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, including marijuana
- Physical exam within 30 days of start, including latex allergy information
- Fit mask test (N95 1860 or 1870+ or PAPRs) within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 60 days (or as per medical history)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive quantitative titer with lab values
- Hepatitis B series and quantitative surface antibody titer
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive quantitative titer with lab values
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID vaccine or declination required for tracking purposes
Additional Requirements
- Ability to pass medication calculation exam (if applicable)
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and safety modules prior to start
- Professional references: 2 references dated within past 2 years, preferably supervisors or managers
- Employment application and skills checklist required
Work Policies
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with application; no RTO approved after offer
- Traveler responsible for covering any additional shifts if needed
