Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry) - Cleveland, Ohio
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Med/Surg Telemetry)

- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Required Experience
- Minimum of 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
- Must have 18 months permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience prior to travel
- Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Ohio RN license or Compact State RN license in hand
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or American Red Cross; RQI acceptable
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or American Red Cross; RQI acceptable
- Willingness to obtain NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification prior to start
- ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate medication administration exam must be passed during orientation
Required Qualifications & Documentation
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience of at least 1.5 years, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- One recent reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty applying for (Charge RN references accepted)
- Background check including:
- FCRA compliant 7-year search
- SSN trace, counties, states, nationwide, sex offender, OFAC, FACIS Level 3
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- FBI and BCI fingerprinting completed within 12 months of start and updated annually (must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to safely perform job functions
- Fit mask test (3M N95 1860 or 1870+) within 12 months, updated annually
- Immunizations and health requirements:
- Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per protocol
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
- Hepatitis B vaccination or titer or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation (no declinations accepted)
- Drug screening: Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted)
- Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year of start
Orientation & Competency Testing
- Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
- Baseline competency exams during orientation:
- Medication administration exam (SafeMedicate) with 90% passing score
- ECG interpretation exam with 80% passing score
- Candidates unsuccessful on first attempt will receive remediation and retake opportunities
Additional Notes
- Candidates must carry a government-issued photo ID while on assignment
- Application must include at least 3 years prior work history, including 2 years clinical practice in an acute care setting in a similar area
- Annual skills checklist required
- Physical exam documentation must include provider address
- Facility accommodates latex allergies with notification
- Fingerprinting must be done both through agency and facility processes
- Candidates can start with fingerprint results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start
- References must be from employment within one year of start and from appropriate supervisory roles
This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs licensed in Ohio or a compact state, who meet the certification and health requirements and are comfortable with a travel contract assignment.
