Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg (Days)

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Provide nursing care on Medical Surgical units.
Patient types include Med Surg and all surgical cases except ortho and spine.
Patient ratios:
- Days: 1:4 or 1:5
- Nights: 1:5 or 1:6
Bed size: 46
Required to float across Med Surg units.
Experience with drips including amiodarone, diltiazem, heparin, dobutamine, milrinone.
Equipment experience required with chest tubes, JP drain, 3-way Foley catheter, and NG tubes.
Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 24 months of Medical Surgical nursing experience.
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa or compact/multistate license valid at time of submission.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) BLS certification.
Valid driver’s license.
Skills checklist specific to Medical Surgical nursing.
Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred.

Additional Information

First-time travelers are welcome.
Orientation dates available.
Must be able to work 36-40 hours per week, with overtime after 40 hours.
Scrub colors: Black or Blue.
