Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry
Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Details
- Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry (16 bed capacity)
- Shift: Nights, 7 PM to 7 AM (3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
- Specialty Experience: Med/Surg Telemetry, including care of patients with pacemakers, IV insulin protocols, and Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
- First-time travelers: Not accepted
- Floating: Yes, within scope and to sister facilities
- Local candidates: Not accepted (must live more than 75 miles from facility)
- Return to Office (RTO) allowed: No more than 5 days
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license for Oklahoma
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
- EKG Course / Telemetry test
- Must have all certifications current prior to start date
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License or State-issued ID
- Utility bill in candidate’s name with matching address dated within last 3 months (address must be >75 miles from facility)
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and various federal/state sanction lists
- Physical exam within 1 year stating good health and no physical limitations
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
- Immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Flu vaccine (seasonal), Hepatitis A (if applicable)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen including marijuana (within 30 days prior to start)
- Fit mask testing to be completed onsite on first day
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and safety training (including HIPAA, OSHA)
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, core safety and patient care topics, and unit-specific exams (all must be current and passed)
Additional Requirements
- Must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Must complete all facility-specific acknowledgments and policy forms prior to start
- References: Two former direct supervisor references required (one within 1 year, one within 3 years)
- Resume: Updated with last 7 years of employment, including explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Work history verification for last 10 years, including international positions if applicable
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with IV insulin protocols

- Charting system used: Epic
- Block scheduling: Not accommodated
- Pending state license: Not accepted
- Prior travel experience: Not required
This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs who meet the certification and documentation requirements and are available for night shifts on a travel contract basis.
