Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 18 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a CT Tech with experience in Radiology/Cardiology to work in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics, with neonates and pediatrics being rare.
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of specialty experience (Radiology/Cardiology)
- 1st time travelers are accepted
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- State License: Must be licensed by the State of Georgia
Skills & Competencies
- IV starts
- PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
- Contrast administration skills
- Familiarity with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems
- Ability to float to a nearby sister campus (approx. 3 miles away)
Work Schedule & Requirements
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days
- Weekend shifts depend on the posted schedule
- Floating between campuses may be required
- No call requirements
- Holiday work expectations:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, must work it
- If 2 major holidays fall during assignment, must work both
- If 3 major holidays fall during assignment, must work 2 of them
Major holidays include New Year’s, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve and Day
Orientation & Compliance
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length
Additional Requirements
- Background check required within 30 days of start (must be complete prior to start)
- Education verification required (degree related to specialty)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with specific protocols if previously positive)
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccine or declination
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
- Color blindness test required
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain units (if applicable)
- Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
- Two clinical references required
- Verification of most recent work history required (can be pending at start with proof it is in process)
Requirements/Qualifications
- CT Technologist with at least 1 year of experience
- CT Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- Experience working in inpatient settings
- Experience working in outpatient settings
- Proficient in IV starts
Patient Population
- Adolescents to geriatrics primarily
- Neonates and pediatrics are rare
Notes
- Scrub color: Caribbean Blue
- Floating to a sister campus may be required
- Locals accepted at the same rate
This position is ideal for CT Techs with at least 1 year of experience in Radiology/Cardiology who are comfortable working in diverse inpatient and outpatient settings and meeting the outlined compliance and certification requirements.
