Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit
Location: Nampa, Idaho
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour shifts (7p-7a), every other weekend (possibly more if needed)
Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Beds: 10
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
Job Description
Seeking ICU Registered Nurses for a 13-week travel assignment in a Southern Idaho hospital. Nurses will provide care for critically ill patients with common diagnoses including heart failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, ventilated patients, GI bleeds, strokes, post codes, pneumonia, and post-surgical complications (non-specialty surgeries). Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) patients are excluded from this assignment.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience (higher experience requirement applies)
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- Ability to titrate drips including Propofol, Levophed, Dobutamine, Vasopressin, Fentanyl, Epinephrine, and Diltiazem
- Must be a good team player
- First-time travel nurses are welcome
Unit Details
- Charge Nurse present on each shift (does not take patients)
- Administrative Supervisor and Crisis Nurse available 24/7
- CNA support: 1 per shift
- Hospitalist on site 24/7; Intensivist available via telehealth 24/7
- Respiratory Therapists (RT) available 24/7 with equipment including vents, high flow, and BiPAP
- No Tele/Monitor Techs; RNs responsible for reading cardiac strips (Spacelabs monitors)
Additional Information
- Floating: Nurses may float to Telemetry unit within the hospital, maintaining approximately a 1:3 ratio, but may take full assignments. May also float to nearby ICUs in Meridian and Boise.
- Orientation: 1 to 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation depending on experience
- Dress Code: Any clean and professional scrub color
- Weekend and holiday coverage as needed
- No call or standby requirements
Notes
- This assignment follows a 50-mile radius rule for candidate eligibility.
- Prior travel experience is not required.
