Job Description

• Medical Surgical unit
• Block scheduling available on a case-by-case basis
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Local candidates are also considered
• Compliance includes nicotine screening

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Background & Health Documents

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked/schooled, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
• Fingerprinting (BCI & FBI) with clearance attestation required prior to start and updated annually
• Physical exam within the last 12 months
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• TB questionnaire updated annually
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• 9 Panel Drug Screen including cotinine/nicotine within the last 12 months
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (10/1 - 5/31); medical exemptions require physician note and facility approval
• COVID vaccine series preferred

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references within 2 years of start
• Annual skills checklist
• Radiation badge required if assigned to Cath lab (badge provided by facility)

Work Attire & Orientation

• Navy blue scrubs required
• Comfortable shoes (if crocs, must have back strap and no holes)
• Nails must be kept at ¼ inch length
• Solid color undershirt acceptable
• Navy track jacket allowed
• Orientation includes photo for badge and meeting manager in main lobby at 7:30 AM on first day

Experience

• No explicit years of specialty experience required stated; first-time travelers are accepted

• Prior travel experience is not required
