Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Mountainside, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours: 36 hours per week
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Schedule: Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday)

Job Description

• Provide respiratory care for infant, pediatric, and adolescent patients.
• Must have experience with ventilator management.
• Charting system used: Meditech.
• First-time travelers are accepted.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in New Jersey.
• Minimum 1.5 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience with ventilator management.

Patient Population

• Infant, Pediatric, and Adolescent patients.

Additional Requirements

• Must submit and have approved Return to Office (RTO) documentation before offer.
• Scrub color: Any.

Important Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Criminal background check within 30 days of start.
• Drug screening within 30 days of start.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per facility requirements.
• Physical exam within the last 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions.
• Respiratory medical clearance and on-site fit testing required prior to start.
• Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually.
• Various certifications and competencies may be required depending on assignment specifics (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) — confirm with recruiter.
• References: Two references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference.
• Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history required.
• Skills checklist and competency exams required and must be updated annually.
• Color blindness testing may be required depending on job tasks.
• Compliance with state-specific registry and exclusion lists.

Prior Travel Experience

• Not required. First-time travelers are accepted.

Notes for Candidates

• Candidates must bring all required documentation to orientation.
• On-site fit testing is mandatory.
• Candidates with facial hair must be clean-shaven for fit testing unless approved for accommodation.
• All required background checks and clearances must be completed prior to start.
• Candidates switching between sites with less than 30 days gap may have some documentation accepted from previous assignment.
