Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - Days
- Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
- Shift Requirements:
- Weekend shifts required: 2 shifts every other weekend
- Day shift weekends: Saturday and Sunday every other weekend
- Night shift weekends: Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday depending on rotation
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours)
- Floating: May float within scope to Telemetry unit
- Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (local radius rule: 75 miles)
- Pending License: Accepted
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri (pending licenses accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, with Telemetry experience within the last year
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued ID required
- Criminal background check within 6 months (including statewide and nationwide searches)
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Education verification of highest nursing degree required
- Professional license primary source verification (NURSYS for Missouri)
- Drug testing within 1 year, must include standard panels and be valid throughout assignment
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policies must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Unit-specific competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency required annually
- Skills checklist required within 1 year of start (Oncology skills checklist if applicable)
- References: Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
Additional Notes
- Floating within Telemetry scope may be required
- Weekend shifts are mandatory as per schedule
- No block scheduling available
- Locals within 75 miles are not accepted for this travel position
- Pending licenses are accepted to start
This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of telemetry experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced acute care setting with weekend shift requirements and is open to travel assignments.
