Description
Job Opportunity: CT Tech
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Perform diagnostic radiology procedures including CT and X-ray imaging. Prepare patients for examinations and conduct routine radiographic studies following established guidelines and safety protocols. Provide radiation safety for both operator and patient. Position involves working night shifts with a schedule of 3 twelve-hour shifts (1800-0630), every fourth weekend, and holidays as assigned. Call duties are assigned within staff rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Ohio
- Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Work Environment & Volume
- Level I Trauma Center setting.
- Typical department volume: 270-290 scans per day.
Shift Details
- Night shift: 3x12 hour shifts (6:00 PM to 6:30 AM)
- Every fourth weekend and holidays as assigned
- Call rotation as assigned
Required Certifications
- ARRT certification (CT Tech)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Physical exam within 2 years indicating clearance to work without restrictions.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months of start.
- Respirator fit test documentation within 1 year (if applicable).
- Drug screening: Negative 9 or 10 panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start.
- Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B as applicable.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required.
- Background check: 7-year history including criminal, sex offender, sanctions screening, and county searches.
- Fingerprinting required for onboarding.
Additional Requirements
- Must be located more than 100 miles from the facility to qualify as a traveler.
- Must complete required competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests within specified timeframes.
- Color blindness testing required if candidate fails online color exam.
- Various state-specific background and registry checks as applicable.
Notes for Candidates
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
- Large hospital and trauma center experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Call responsibilities and weekend shifts are part of the schedule.
- Must be able to work night shifts consistently.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-volume, Level I trauma center environment with advanced imaging technology. Ideal candidates will have solid radiology experience, ARRT certification, and the ability to work night shifts in a fast-paced setting.
