Description

Job Opportunity: CT Tech

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Perform diagnostic radiology procedures including CT and X-ray imaging. Prepare patients for examinations and conduct routine radiographic studies following established guidelines and safety protocols. Operate GE and Toshiba/Cannon imaging equipment. Typical department volume is approximately 270-290 scans per day.

Shift: 4x10 hour day shifts (7:30 AM - 6:00 PM), every other weekend
Call: One weekend of call and holidays as assigned


Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in Ohio
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a CT Technologist, including experience within the last year
  • Registered with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Additional Requirements

  • Must have a permanent address greater than 100 miles from the assignment location to be eligible.
  • Background check: 7-year history including SS trace, county searches, nationwide criminal search, sex offender search, and sanctions screening.
  • Drug screening: Negative 9 or 10 panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start.
  • Physical exam: Must be completed within 2 years of start, indicating clearance to work without restrictions.
  • Respirator fit test: Documentation within 1 year of start (if applicable).
  • Immunizations and health screenings: TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) immunity, varicella immunity, hepatitis B status, flu vaccination or approved exemption, and tetanus/diphtheria/TDAP if assigned to specific units.
  • Competency exams: Unit-specific competency exams and color blindness testing (if applicable).

Certifications

  • ARRT certification (CT Tech specific).
  • BLS certification (AHA, ARC, or Military accepted).
  • ACLS, PALS, or other certifications only if specified by unit (not typically required for this role).

Work Environment

  • Level I Trauma Center setting.
  • Use of charcoal grey scrubs and EPIC EMR system.
  • High volume imaging department with advanced CT technology.

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • Candidates must be prepared for weekend call and holiday assignments.
  • Fingerprinting and other state-specific background checks may be required depending on assignment specifics.
