Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab
Location: Janesville, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Day shift
Call Frequency: On call one night a week and one weekend a month
Job Description
- Provide nursing care in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab using the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.
- Perform patient assessments, planning, interventions, and evaluation of care.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to nursing standards, policies, and state laws.
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation in compliance with established standards.
- Develop and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy.
- Educate patients and families to the appropriate level of understanding.
- Participate in department/unit performance improvement and shared governance activities.
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support patient care continuity.
- Manage complex patient situations, delegate appropriately, and escalate issues through the proper chain of command.
- Support professional development, evidence-based practice guidelines, peer review, and continuous learning opportunities.
- For clinic and ambulatory settings, maintain patient flow and perform telephone triage as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (education verification required).
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year of critical care experience.
- Cardiovascular intervention experience required.
- Current Wisconsin or Compact RN licensure.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Successful completion of EKG test.
- Certification in National Institute Healthcare Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
