Job Opportunity: Perfusionist
Location: Greenville, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 4x10 hour shifts; shift times may vary based on need.
- Call: Required, averaging 1 day per week and 2 weekends per contract.
- Special Procedures:
- Must independently assist with ECMO cannulation for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
- ECMO transport experience is mandatory.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced emergent cardiac cases.
- Special Equipment Experience Required:
- Spectrum pump (mandatory)

- ISTAT
- Centrimag
- Impella 5.5
- Bellmont Hyperthermia Kit
- CardioHelp
- Angiovac
- CardioQuip HC
- Work Settings: Cardiovascular OR, General OR, Pediatric CVOR, Pediatric General OR, Trauma Level 1.
- Electronic Medical Record: Minimum 1 year of EPIC experience required.
- Scrubs: Provided by the unit.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Perfusionist, including experience within the last year.
- Completion of at least one travel assignment as a Perfusionist.
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience working with adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with EPIC electronic medical records.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required for computer access and must be carried on duty.
- Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and fingerprinting as applicable.
- Education verification and primary source license verification required.
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if applicable)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B documentation or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption (not required for remote workers)
- Drug screening within 1 year, updated annually.
- Fit mask/respirator fit test to be completed onsite during orientation.
Orientation and Training
- Completion of online modules within 72 hours of assignment.
- Pass/fail testing (medication and arrhythmia exams) required prior to start.
- Annual competencies and core training exams required.
Additional Notes
- Candidate must be able to work independently and handle emergent situations.
- Must have experience with ECMO transport and Spectrum pump systems.
- This position requires an experienced traveler; first-time travelers will not be accepted.
