Job Opportunity: RN - Operating Room (OR)
Location: Lewiston, Idaho
Employment Type: Travel
Job Description
The Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and providing patient care in the operating room. The OR RN collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR technicians, and other personnel to deliver care according to state regulations, AORN standards, physician orders, and hospital policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scheduling surgical cases
- Ensuring availability of supplies
- Managing case timeliness
- Communicating with patient families
- Updating physician preference cards
- Scrubbing and circulating during surgical cases
- Supervising personnel delivering patient care
Shift Details:
- 8-hour day shifts (06:30 AM - 03:00 PM)
- Monday through Friday
- On-call one day per week and one weekend per month
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Idaho
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience working with trauma patients
Experience Requirements
- Specialty (OR RN) experience: 2 years (including recent experience within the last year)
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
Additional Notes
- Experience working in a hospital OR environment is essential
- Must be able to work collaboratively with surgical teams and support staff
- Call and weekend coverage required as specified
