Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts
  • Unit: Intermediate Care (IMC) / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Staffed Beds: 24
  • Average Daily Census: 24
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated
  • Local Radius Rule: Must live more than 75 miles from the contracted facility
  • Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 5 days

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oklahoma
  • Telemetry experience with a minimum of 1 year, including experience within the last year
  • One year or more of total travel nursing experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS - NIH Stroke Certification
  • Heartsaver or First Aid

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Current and valid Driver’s License or State-issued ID
  • Utility bill in candidate’s name with matching address dated within last 3 months (address must be >75 miles from facility)
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and various federal/state sanction screenings
  • Physical exam within 1 year stating good health and no physical limitations
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes
  • Immunizations/vaccinations including Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu seasonal vaccine, and COVID-19 (declinations accepted with agency form)
  • Drug screening (10-panel, including marijuana) within 30 days prior to start
  • Fit mask testing to be completed onsite on first day
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation and safety training, including Patient Care Orientation and Epic training if no recent experience

Competency & Testing Requirements

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (100% passing score)
  • Color Blind Testing (Ishihara preferred)
  • Unit-specific competency exams (minimum 80% passing score)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (90% passing score)
  • Core competency exams covering safety, patient rights, ethics, infection control, etc. (80% passing score)
  • Conscious Sedation competency exam if applicable (80% passing score)
  • Annual updates required for most competencies and certifications

Additional Notes

  • Candidates must provide 2 references from former direct supervisors (one within 1 year, one within 3 years)
  • Resumes must include last 7 years of employment with explanations for gaps over 30 days
  • Skills checklist must be current within 1 year and align with competency exams
  • Employment history verification required for last 10 years, including international positions and gaps
  • Various facility-specific policy acknowledgments and agreements must be completed prior to start

This position is ideal for experienced travel RNs with critical care and telemetry skills who are comfortable working night shifts in an IMC/PCU setting and meeting comprehensive credentialing and compliance requirements.
