Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Location: Midland, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Details
- Start Date: April 13 or April 20 (to be confirmed)
- Shifts: One position 1pm–1am, another 3pm–3am (to be confirmed in interview)
- Specialty: Emergency Room (ER)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience in a similar-sized facility
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – must be willing to obtain if not currently held
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – must be willing to obtain if not currently held
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – must be willing to obtain if not currently held
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – required for ER
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross for:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Current certification in NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Current TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- I9 or attestation form
- E-Verify or attestation
- 10-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, including all locations lived/worked
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- State-specific background checks for Texas (DPS Criminal History, Employee Misconduct Registry, Employability Status Check) within 30 days of start
- Education verification and transcript/diploma as applicable
- NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
- Required immunizations/vaccinations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start and onsite drug screen during orientation
- Flu vaccination or agency declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
Additional Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific confidentiality, security, and compliance agreements prior to start
- Annual updates for background checks, competency exams, and orientation safety manual acknowledgment
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and age-specific competencies within 1 year of start
- References: 2 references within 3 years of start
- Resume or employment application copy required
