Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
Weekend Hours: Every other weekend as required

Job Summary

Provide direct patient care on a medical-surgical/telemetry unit. Utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Coordinate care with ancillary departments to optimize patient comfort and outcomes. Maintain professional accountability and patient confidentiality in accordance with nursing standards and state regulations.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry
• Number of Beds: 60
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 or 1:6
• Equipment: Bladder scanner, vein finder, IV pumps, wound vacs
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience in an inpatient setting within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Job Requirements

• Must be flexible with scheduling and guaranteed hours (36 or 48)
• Night shift orientation occurs on day shift; availability for full orientation week required
• May float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
• Must comply with flu vaccination requirement (November 1 – April 1) with no declinations accepted
• Physical demands include standing and walking most of the shift, bending, stooping, lifting and turning patients with assistance, and exposure to blood and body fluids
• Ability to push, pull, grip up to 50 lbs., pinch up to 15 lbs., and perform minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
