Location: Binghamton, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Endoscopy)
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Patient Ratios: 1:1
- Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend on-call shift per month
- On-Call Requirement: 1 on-call shift per month in addition to weekend on-call
- Floating: May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Local Candidates: Not accepted
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Return to Office Restrictions: 5 days or less preferred
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Tech Cert Verification - National
- Harassment Prevention Training Certificate
Required Licensure
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for New York State
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New York
- Minimum 1 year of endoscopy experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- National Tech Certification Verification
- Harassment Prevention Training Certificate
Required Background and Compliance Checks
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Social Security trace and county searches for last 7 years of residence/work/school
- Nationwide sex offender check
- Education verification of highest level (ASN/BSN for RNs)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 1 year of start
- HHS/OIG check within 1 year of start
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam completed and signed by a Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant within 90 days of start, updated annually
- Respirator Fit Test within 1 year of start, updated annually (specific mask models required)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation updated annually
- TB Questionnaire required within 30 days of start and updated annually
- Immunizations or positive titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (series, declination, or positive titer)
- Varicella
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses) or approved medical/religious exemption (booster not required)
Training and Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
- Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (if applicable)
- Harassment Prevention Training Certificate (New York, annual expiration)
- Facility-specific RN modules and quizzes (e.g., Medication Exam, Suicide Precautions Quiz)
- Annual training modules prior to start
Documentation and Other Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID required
- Photo for badge meeting specific guidelines (plain background, no hats/masks/sunglasses)
- Confidentiality agreement and job description review/signature prior to start
- References: 2 professional references required
- Employment application required
- Unit-specific skills checklist within 1 year of start, updated annually
Additional Notes
- Candidates will receive EPIC test-out instructions directly from the facility’s EPIC training team
- Respirator clearance via a virtual questionnaire reviewed by a licensed healthcare professional is required prior to start
- No local candidates accepted for this position
This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of endoscopy experience who is comfortable with on-call and weekend shifts, and who meets all licensure, certification, and health requirements for New York State travel assignments.
