Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Watertown, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Perform plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support.
• Provide patient and family education tailored to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Circulate during Cesarean sections and assist physicians during deliveries.
• Follow policies for recovery and care of surgical patients.
• Attend neonatal station in C-section suite and assess neonates post-delivery.
• Maintain fetal monitoring certification every two years.
• Attend STABLE certification if offered and maintain NRP certification.
• Identify and communicate necessary information to physicians and patients.

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts, Monday through Thursday (varied).
• Block scheduling may be accommodated.

Required Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin RN license or multi-state RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN clinical experience in Labor & Delivery.
• At least 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery experience within the last year.
• Recent RN experience in OB/GYN, Nursery, and Labor & Delivery (minimum 1 year).
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NRP issued by the American Heart Association.
