Job Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology Tech)
  • Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Call Requirements: 10 shifts per month including weekend call
  • Weekend Requirements: Every 3rd or 4th weekend on call
  • Holiday Requirements: Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • Guaranteed Hours:
    • 8 and 10 hour shifts: 40 hours/week
    • 3 twelve-hour shifts: 36 hours/week
    • 4 twelve-hour shifts: 48 hours/week
  • First Timers Accepted: Yes
  • Locals Accepted: Yes
  • Block Schedule: To be discussed

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic radiographic procedures for radiological diagnosis.
  • Work with patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric populations.
  • Follow physician instructions, prepare and operate equipment, and position patients correctly to obtain requested diagnostic images.
  • Treat patients with care and respect.
  • May be required to scrub into procedures as needed.
  • May need to obtain advanced credentials in interventional radiology if applicable.
  • Must have knowledge of sterile technique and supplies used during special exams.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise patient positioning when routine positioning is not possible.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Indiana
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year
  • BLS certification
  • ARRT (R) certification
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise patient positioning when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning

Experience

  • No explicit years of experience stated; first-time travelers accepted.

Certifications & Compliance

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or equivalent (RQI acceptable)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or equivalent (as applicable)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or equivalent (as applicable)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA only (as applicable)
  • Other certifications may be required based on unit assignment.

Background & Health Requirements

  • Background check within 90 days of start, including 7-year work/living history and various national/statewide checks.
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start.
  • Fit mask test within 12 months of start (specific approved respirators required).
  • Immunizations and titers required or strongly recommended:
    • TB test within 1 year of start
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required (no declinations accepted)
    • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
    • Flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (no declinations accepted)
  • Annual TB questionnaire required.

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment within 2 years.
  • Current employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps over 30 days.
  • Skills checklist completed within 12 months and annually thereafter.
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as required.
  • Completion of facility-specific compliance and confidentiality agreements prior to start.

Notes

  • This position requires working on-call shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Pending state license applications are accepted if submitted before start date.
  • Locals are accepted for this travel/contract role.
  • Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
