Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER
Location: Midland, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Description
- Start date within the next 3-5 weeks
- Minimum 2 years of experience required in Emergency Room (ER) or equivalent size facility
- Certifications required or must be willing to obtain if offered:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) / Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience in a facility of equivalent size, with at least some experience within the last year
- Current certifications issued by recognized organizations:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Acknowledgement of Orientation Safety Manual
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- I9 or attestation form
- E-Verify or attestation
- Background checks including:
- 10-year criminal background check (all locations lived/worked)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check
- HHS/OIG check
- Texas Department of Public Safety criminal history
- Texas Employee Misconduct Registry
- Texas Employability Status Check
- Education verification and highest level diploma/transcript as applicable
- NURSYS verification for RN license
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
- Immunizations/vaccinations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Flu vaccination or agency declination (required October 1 - March 31)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant acceptable)
- N95 Fit Test within 1 year of start (PAPR not accepted)
Additional Certifications (As Applicable)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - preferred for L&D
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- NIH Stroke Certification (required for all clinical positions)
Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Age-specific competency exam within 1 year of start
- General competency exam within 1 year of start
Orientation & Facility Specific Requirements
- Completion of confidentiality and security agreements prior to start
- Drug screening and blood testing consent form
- TB questionnaire
- Compliance checklist
- Facility-specific orientation and safety manual acknowledgment (annual update required)
References & History
- Two professional references within 3 years of start date
- Copy of resume or employment application
- Annual skills checklist
