Registered Nurse – Float Pool (Nights)

Location: Rockford, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with strong ICU and extensive Cardiac experience to work primarily in ICU units including Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, Step-Down ICU, with flexibility to float to Medical Surgical as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Provide nursing care using the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments following nursing standards, policies, and state laws.
Document patient care according to standards.
Develop and implement individualized patient care plans as prescribed.
Participate in unit performance improvement and shared governance activities.
Provide clinical expertise and guidance to support patient care across units.
Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating concerns appropriately.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Illinois
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Additional Information

Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
