Job Opportunity: CT Tech
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Specialty: Multimodality Tech (CT/X-Ray), may include other duties assisting operations within the Emergency Department/Urgent Care.
- Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM). Specific workdays to be determined.
- On-call: No
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, depending on established schedule.
- Floating: No floating between units or facilities required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in South Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a CT Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Multimodality Tech (CT/X-Ray) / CT Tech
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT (CT) certification
Facility & Work Environment
- Acute Care Hospital setting.
- Charting system: Epic.
- Parking: Free with pass provided at start.
- Scrub colors: Black and Teal.
- Hurricane season (June-November) may require emergency response team participation.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Must be completed within 90 days of start.
- Includes SSN trace, statewide and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, and international searches if applicable.
- Education Verification: Required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if verification is pending.
- Physical Exam: Must be completed within 90 days of start, confirming ability to work without restrictions.
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
- Immunizations & Health:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination form required.
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or proof of prior positive with chest x-ray.
- COVID vaccination highly preferred; if declined, a declination form must be completed.
- Flu vaccine required during flu season or medical/religious exemption accepted.
- Other immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B as per facility policy.
- Respirator Clearance: Annual medical clearance required via RespSafety virtual questionnaire.
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references required, including at least one from the unit of assignment.
- Work History Verification: Last 3 clinical employers verified.
Additional Notes
- Orientation: Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and first day instructions required prior to start.
- Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with solid light background required.
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
- Local Radius: 60 miles.
- Locals: Accepted on a case-by-case basis.
- Block Scheduling: Not applicable.
Certifications & Training (Additional Preferred/Required)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred but not required.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required for Emergency Room.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) as applicable.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) not required for ER RNs.
- NIH Stroke Certification required for ER.
- IV Therapy certification required for select LPNs if applicable.
Important Compliance Reminders
- All certifications must be current and not expiring within 30 days of start.
- Radiation badge process may take 5-7 days; candidates cannot start clinical duties without it.
- Licensure hits or issues must be approved by the facility.
- Education and licensure verifications must be completed prior to start.
- All required documents and modules must be completed before orientation; failure to do so may result in being sent home.
This position is ideal for a CT Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, appropriate certifications, and licensure in South Carolina, seeking a travel contract in an acute care hospital setting with night shifts.
