Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Location: Lebanon, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work on a medical-surgical unit with night shifts: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekends required as needed, likely every other weekend (EOW)
• Floating to all medical-surgical floors and potentially rehab units
• May care for COVID-19 patients
• Tobacco and fragrance-free facility environment
• Expected to work 1 of 2 major holidays (July 4th or Memorial Day) and surrounding days

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
• National Tech Certification Verification
• Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing

Schedule & Other Requirements

• Return to Office (RTO) within a maximum of 7 days
• No call requirements
• Clinical screening and manager interview required prior to placement

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, fingerprinting, and child abuse clearance (must be completed or in process before or shortly after start)
• Education verification (highest level)
• Professional references (2 within last 3 years)
• Employment application or most recent resume
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams (including medication and dysrhythmia/EKG competency)
• Photo for badge (passport-style, professional)
• Health documents including:

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start
  • Immunizations and titers for Hepatitis B, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption/declination
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
  • Drug screening (9 panel, negative within 1 year)
  • Respiratory safety clearance renewed annually
• Completion of facility-specific documents including code of conduct, confidentiality agreement, and health & wellness commitments
• Completion of required online learning modules and new hire orientation by specified deadlines

• Candidate must be prepared to float to various units within the medical-surgical service line
• Facility enforces a tobacco and fragrance-free policy
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
