Job Details

• Specialty: MedSurg/Telemetry Registered Nurse
• Shift: 4x12 hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Start Date: May 26, 2026
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (must be more than 75 miles away)
• First Time Travelers: Accepted
• Charting System: Epic experience required
• Floating: Required
• Patient Ratio: Able to manage 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio on MedSurg unit

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• MedSurg/Telemetry nursing experience of at least 1 year within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Requirements

• Background Checks: 7-year criminal background check, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
  • Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year
• Documentation: Government-issued photo ID, photo for badge, employment application, references (for agency candidates), skills checklist, work history verification
• Orientation: Completion of safety manual acknowledgement and facility-specific modules prior to start

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
• Candidates must be able to float to other units as needed.
• Candidates must be able to work nights and meet weekend requirements.

This position is ideal for a MedSurg/Telemetry RN with at least 1 year of experience, comfortable with cardiac monitoring and emergency response, and ready for a travel contract in Rochester, NY.
