Job Description

• General Medical/Surgical telemetry with a focus on cardiac care.
• Unit cares for structural heart patients.
• Shift rotation is approximately 50/50 between day and night shifts.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Typical schedule: one week of days followed by one week of nights per pay period. Shift changes do not occur within the same week unless requested.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Background checks including nationwide and state-specific searches within 30 days of start.
• Fingerprinting per Pennsylvania Department of Human Services requirements.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year. Annual TB questionnaire if applicable.
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • Varicella
• Negative 15-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 1).
• Professional references: 2 for travel/allied/per diem acute care roles (within 3 years).
• Completion of facility-specific orientation checklists, code of conduct, confidentiality agreements, and pandemic attestations prior to start.
• Completion of competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable.
• Completion of required training and assessments related to telemetry and cardiac care (e.g., cardiac procedure education, skin integrity, mobility, catheter training).

• This position involves telemetry nursing with cardiac patient focus; familiarity with telemetry monitoring and cardiac care protocols is essential.
• The role requires adherence to all state and facility-specific compliance and documentation standards prior to and during assignment.
