Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Day Shift)

Location: Janesville, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

Seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide patient care in a fast-paced ER setting. The role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, administering medications and treatments, performing patient assessments, and developing individualized care plans. The nurse will participate in performance improvement activities and support patient safety and experience through critical thinking and appropriate escalation.


Schedule

  • Day Shift
  • May work at a secondary Emergency Department location within the city

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Wisconsin
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience, with recent ED experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) or TNS (Trauma Nurse Specialist)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Experience

  • Must be an experienced ER Registered Nurse (specific years of experience not stated)

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to nursing standards and state laws
  • Document care according to standards
  • Perform assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care
  • Develop and execute patient care plans as prescribed
  • Participate in unit performance improvement and shared governance activities
  • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to support patient care continuity
  • Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating issues as needed
  • Engage in professional nursing development and peer review processes
